ABOUT THIS CLASS

DETAILS: Improver to Advanced level class. Come join us for fun and friendly classes with lots of great sequences and technique for social dancing.

WHEN: Every Tuesday 7.30-8.30pm with an extended workshop once a month (7:00-8:30pm)

CHACARERA WORKSHOP 04.06.24

ABOUT THIS CLASS

Come to learn the enchanting Argentine Folklore dance of Chacarera in this workshop for complete beginners!

DETAILS: Folklore maestra Emilia Andrada will be showing us how to dance one of the most famous Argentine Folklore dances, the ‘Chacarera’. Danced both regionally and also as a break at many milongas, Chacarera is very fun to dance and easy to learn. We’ll be dancing both as a group and in rotating couples so no need to come with a partner. 

TEACHER’S BIO: Graduate of Contemporary Dance at the National University of Tucuman, Argentina, your teacher Emilia Andrada, studied folklore and Tango in depth at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires. With 22 years of professional experience as a dancer and maestra we look forward to her sharing her knowledge with us in this fun and friendly workshop!

FOLLOWERS TECHNIQUE WITH DANIELA & LUCY 18.06.24

ABOUT THIS CLASS

DETAILS: Special workshop specifically for Followers! Delighted to be joined by Daniela Barria
from Argentina. Four times World Championship Finalist and with 22 years experience as a tango dancer, Dani will be sharing her expertise and beautiful dancing technique with us. Dani is an established instructor in Buenos Aires, teaching at schools including La Escuela Mundial de Tango, La Academia Nacional del Tango and La Casa del Tango, and internationally at Tango Ok Dubai, Lime Tango Seoul, South Korea, Oxford & Northern Tango Academy, UK as well as schools across Germany, Denmark, Belgium and Italy.

The workshop will focus deeply on the fundamentals of creating a strong and active base and mastering a variety of beautiful and useful embellishments and how to use them in-sync with our partner and the music.

Delighted to be joined by Veronica Rue from Argentina, World Championship Finalist with more than 20 years experience in Tango, including teaching in La Viruta, La Catedral and Fundacion Tango Argentino, as well as extensive international tours. 

The workshop will be technique based classes working on creating a beautiful walk, wide range of embellishments, working with expression and musicality and giving you tonnes of confidence as a social dancer.

SPECIAL WORKSHOP – MAESTRO CARLOS 23.04.24

ABOUT THIS CLASS

Don’t miss the chance to learn from one of Tango’s best known living legends in this special one-off workshop!

DETAILS: Argentine dancer, maestro, director and choreographer, Carlos started his prestigious career back in the 1970s in Argentina. His classic style richly draws upon influences from the past 4 decades of tango, with incredible musicality and sequences.

Throughout his career, alongside his partner, he has directed tango stage productions working with greats such as Maria Nieves and Carlos Copes, appeared as a dancer in critically acclaimed TV and film and published the book ‘Asi se baila el Tango Argentino’.

An important figure in the diffusion of Argentine tango he was one of the founders and then Director of the Association of Argentine Tango Teachers (AMBCTA), protecting the rights of professional tango dancers. He continues to regularly perform and spread his vast knowledge through teaching both in Argentina where he is maestro at the National Arts University (IUNA) and internationally during his world tours.
